Boiling Two Eggs
One egg in boiling water for 8 minutes, the other in bowl filled with boiling water which just cools off.
After the bowl was filled and eggs put in the water, the bowl had cooled to 89 degrees. Over the next 8 minutes it fell to 74 degrees.
That was not enough to “boil” the egg, so I had to give it 3 minutes more at full boil to get my breakfast.
